It is amazing to be a wedding photographer – to capture the day that two stories merge into one – two people, each with their own history, joining together to write a new chapter.
At Erika and Huy’s wedding, we experienced a beautiful picture of this fusion of life and culture. We enjoyed hearing Vietnamese, Spanish and English spoken throughout the day. And we appreciated little touches like a bowl of fortune cookies, pillars behind the cake with “I love you” in different languages, and latin music at the reception. Even the bridesmaids wore colors and accessories that were specific to them as individuals, but that worked great together as a whole!
Congratulations Huy and Erika! What a beautiful story you have ahead of you as you join all that each of you are together as one!
How they met:
“We met at a Halloween party on October 27, 2007 through a mutual friend who had the party at his apartment. I showed up with a couple of my girl friends and Huy was already in the apartment. He caught my attention with his fortune cookie costume as well as him being so handsome! Then, after a long night of having fun, we exchanged numbers and from there, started going out on dates.”
The PROPOSAL:
“According to Huy, he had gotten the ring 6 months prior to proposing. He just was having trouble on how to do a romantic proposal. Then one night (January 2, 2012) he randomly called me and asked to go to dinner. I didn’t want to but he insisted. He asked his friend to come and he told me to bring one of my friends and I gave in. After having sushi then the fortune cookies come out. I did not want to eat mine but they all said how it was so good and crunchy so I opened up my cookie, surprisingly I was shocked, nervous with my eyes wide opened and excited to read that my fortune cookie said “Erika, will you marry me?” With excitement and tears of joy I replied “yes!”. Huy on the other hand was very nervous and shaky when he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. Both of us were crying of joy. I knew he was going to propose to me, however, I had no idea it was going to be that day since everything was just so random.”
“One thing I love about Erika is that she is Beautiful Inside and out!” -Huy
“When Erika really wants something she talks like a baby.” -Huy
“One thing I love about Huy is his heart. He has a huge heart by helping me as well as others. He is always positive and always has a big smile on his face.” -Erika
“I love that Huy has perfect toes and perfect teeth and also that he snores. It doesn’t bother me one bit. =)” -Erika
We knew we were meant to be after our families met and everyone got along so well. Learning about each other cultures and experiencing new things. Everything was just perfect and we “clicked” even more.
“We are looking forward to having all of our friends and family together in one room having fun enjoying the night and making our wedding day a night to remember!”
Thank you for
your Great work!
